My 3 year old actually prefers them to not interact and instead talk for them! This Alvin Extreme toy is the current favorite though (especially for our 18 month old). The kids love to hit the button on the back of his head to make him chomp at things. This also gets him to start interacting, talking and jumping. The jumping feature works pretty well & he usually lands on his feet! He doesn't jump as well on carpet since there's too much padding to get a good push off of but still gives a little hop. Anxious to get some more of the Extremes but wish the main characters were available with more "action". All in all, a good toy.
